About Bluewaters Island
Bluewaters is a Meraas-built island on reclaimed land off the JBR coastline, approved as an AED 6 billion project and opened in November 2018 after dredging began in 2013. Its anchor is Ain Dubai, the 250-metre observation wheel with 48 capsules and capacity for 1,400 passengers. Madame Tussauds Dubai opened in September 2021. A road bridge connects the island to Sheikh Zayed Road and a pedestrian bridge to JBR.
