Dubai Silicon Oasis is a 7.2 sq km government-owned free zone and integrated technology park, announced in 2003 and formally opened in 2004, with its authority constituted in 2005. DTEC, its startup campus, was established in 2015, and Dubai Digital Park opened in 2018 across 150,000 sq m of office, retail and residential space. Rochester Institute of Technology Dubai was established here in 2008.
